Welcome to a website of MDLAB (Metadata Laboratory) which is organized by Shigeo Sugimoto and Mitsuharu Nagamori, in Graduate School of Library, Information and Media Studies, University of Tsukuba.
In MDLAB, we try to solve research problems using metadata about distribution and management of information resources which include media contents on the Internet focused on Digital Library and Digital Archive. There are many research themes, such as an improvement of accessibility to various information resources on the Internet and preservation of existing digital contents keeping their conditions to be useful for people in the future.
We welcome students who try hard to understand concepts and technologies to deal with information and are interested in making something with their own hands.
